Effective date: June 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Gratitude Scroll ("Gratitude Scroll," "we," "us") handles information in connection with the Gratitude Scroll mobile application (the "App"). We built Gratitude Scroll to be private by design. We collect as little as possible, and the most sensitive parts of the experience — your voice and the apps you choose to block — never leave your device.
Unlocking your apps requires you to speak your gratitude out loud. To do this, the App listens through your microphone only while you are actively holding the record button. We use on-device voice activity detection to confirm that you are speaking.
Gratitude Scroll uses Apple's Family Controls and Managed Settings framework to lock the apps you choose. When you select apps, iOS provides the App with opaque, system-level tokens that do not reveal which apps you selected. These tokens are stored locally on your device. We have no ability to see, collect, or transmit the list of apps you block.
You can use Gratitude Scroll's core features without an account. If you choose to sign in — to save your progress and keep your subscription across devices — you may do so with Sign in with Apple or Google. Authentication is handled by our backend provider, Supabase, together with Apple or Google.
See Apple's Privacy Policy, Google's Privacy Policy, and Supabase's Privacy Policy.
During setup you may answer a few personalization questions (for example, your first name, your reason for using the App, and general survey responses about your phone habits). Your gratitude list, journal entries, mood entries, streaks, settings, and goals are stored on your device and are not synced to our servers.
Some onboarding responses may be sent to our backend service (Supabase) to help us understand how people use the App and improve it. If you have signed in, these responses may be associated with your account identifier. This data is not used to advertise to you and is not sold.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through our payments provider, RevenueCat. When you subscribe, RevenueCat and Apple process purchase information (such as a pseudonymous app user ID, transaction receipts, and subscription status) so we can deliver and restore your subscription. We do not receive your full payment card details. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.
If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated on-device and do not require us to collect additional personal information.
Data stored on your device is removed when you delete the App. If you created an account, you can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account), or by emailing us at the address below. When you delete your account, we delete your account record, email, name, and any onboarding responses associated with it.
Gratitude Scroll is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information. You can delete your account and its data from within the App, or contact us using the details below. Most of your in-app data lives only on your device and is removed when you delete the App.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected in the App or on this page.
